The Role
As a Business Control Analyst, you will partner closely with product, finance, and commercial teams to drive the performance of our fintech portfolio, with focus on travel flexibility products (e.g., cancellation protection, flexible ticketing etc). You will play a pivotal role in building robust business cases, refining financial models, and analyzing the unit economics drivers of these high-growth solutions.
The Business Control Analyst will act as a core financial contributor for the domain, ensuring the accuracy, transparency, and optimization of our financial reporting and respective processes with a view to incorporate AI/ML. This role combines strong analytical and technical finance expertise with a commercial mindset — overseeing P&L management, ensuring financial integrity across products and markets, and providing strategic insights that drive business growth and profitability.
The ideal candidate is a proactive, highly analytical thinker with experience in financial controlling, modeling, or business analysis and possesses relentless attention to detail and the strategic foresight to quickly deconstruct new products into comprehensive business cases. We are looking for a problem-solver who can identify and track end-to-end financial and / or business implications, proactively propose risk-mitigation actions, and thrive in a fast-paced fintech environment. If you excel at transforming intricate financial data into clear, actionable business recommendations, we want you on our team.
Responsibilities

Act as a daily liaison between finance and product teams, linking financial results with operational drivers to ensure transparency and accountability.
Track product-level profitability and execute robust product control processes to support the financial success of the flexibility portfolio.
Maintain and continuously assess risk and AI/ML prediction models linked with product performance, including the value at risk ensuring a highly stable operating environment.
Evolve forecasting models to predict product performance, providing the quantitative foundation for strategic decisions on pricing and product continuity.
Perform deep-dive variance analysis and scenario modeling to guide budgeting, forecasting, and corrective actions.
Support new product launches by assessing financial feasibility, risk exposure and projected ROI.
Identify and troubleshoot complex financial data issues, driving efficiency and continuous improvement in our daily operations.
Support reporting and automation tech initiatives aimed at increasing the speed and accuracy of financial data flowing into the organization.
Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Business Administration, or a related quantitative field (a Master’s degree is considered a plus).
Approximately 3–5 years of experience in Business Controlling, FP&A, Financial Analysis, or Audit, preferably within the Fintech, Travel Tech, Insurtech, or broader Technology sectors.
Proven experience in supporting P&L analysis and financial performance reporting.
Strong hands-on experience building, maintaining, or auditing complex financial models.
Solid understanding of product-level profitability tracking and performance monitoring, utilising an investigative approach when identifying discrepancies or areas for further consideration.
Advanced proficiency in Excel/Google Sheets (complex formulas, scenario modeling). Experience with BI tools (like Qlik sense) is highly desirable.
Self-motivated with the ability to take ownership in a fast growing environment.
Ability to act proactively, take initiatives and pay attention to detail.
Strong communication skills, can-do approach & fluency in English language.
