Product Manager – Data

Job Purpose
Etraveli Group is undergoing a significant data transformation, where we are building up a new data platform and building data products both for internal and external use.
As a Product Manager – Data, you will own the product direction of our data platform and data products. You will work at the intersection of business needs, data engineering capability, and organisational change. Translating strategy into a clear roadmap, driving adoption, and ensuring the platform delivers measurable value to the teams that rely on it.
This is not a steady-state operations role. You will be shaping how a scaling travel tech company manages and uses data going forward.
This role can be based in Uppsala or Stockholm.
Duties and Responsibilities
Platform Product Ownership
Own the roadmap for the data platform, including the semantic layer, self-service capabilities, and data product architecture
Act as the primary business interface to the Data Platform team — translating stakeholder needs into prioritised engineering work
Define and maintain a clear, outcome-driven backlog; manage trade-offs transparently with stakeholders
Drive adoption of self-service data capabilities across product and business teams
Data Product DevelopmentLead the identification, scoping, and delivery of high-value data products in collaboration with business and BI teams
Establish clear definitions of "done" and quality standards for data products
Work with BI and Data platform team to ensure data products are reusable, documented, and designed for multiple consumers
Champion an AI-ready data architecture — semantic layer design, lineage, and governance baked in from the start
Stakeholder AlignmentEngage proactively with product teams, commercial stakeholders, and analytics consumers to understand needs and build buy-in
Communicate roadmap progress, trade-offs, and constraints clearly at all levels — from engineering teams to CXO stakeholders
Help business teams understand what is possible and practical, and set realistic expectations
Transformation EnablementDrive the shift toward product teams measuring and owning their own data outcomes
Increase the amount of self-service around data
Contribute to the design and rollout of data governance standards across the organisation
Qualifications / Personal Characteristics
Must Have:5+ years in a product management role, with at least 2–3 years focused on data platforms, data products, or analytics infrastructure
Demonstrated experience owning a data product or platform roadmap end-to-end
Strong ability to translate business problems into technical requirements, and vice versa
Data literate and comfortable working independently with data — able to interrogate datasets, work with analytics tools, and form your own view without always relying on others to do the analysis
Experience working with data engineering teams and understanding of modern data stack concepts (e.g. data warehousing, semantic layers, ELT pipelines, data modelling)
Strong stakeholder management skills — comfortable engaging with both engineering teams and senior business leaders
Structured thinking with the ability to manage complex trade-offs under pressure
Nice to HaveExperience in travel tech, e-commerce, or a high-growth technology company
Familiarity with tools such as Spark, Dremio, dbt, Looker, or similar
Experience driving organisational change or data self-service adoption
Understanding of data governance and compliance requirements (GDPR)
Exposure to AI/ML use cases and data requirements for agentic systems
